In an effort to increase HIV/AIDS awareness 33 participants from various departments were taken through HIV/AIDS peer education training on 16th and 17th September 2010. The course was aimed at building and strengthening the capacity of employees to share information that would lead to prevention, mitigation and control of the impact of HIV/AIDS at home and in the workplace. The program was facilitated by Federation of Kenya Employers. A series of such trainings for different people in the company, is to be carried out in the near future, so as to reach out as many people as possible.

On the evening of the same day there was a 'Happy Hour' session held at the Bata Sports Club that went on for most of the evening. There was a lot to eat and drink for those who attended. Some chose to chat and dance while others enjoyed indoor games like darts, chess, pool and table tennis.
