Bata Kenya Sponsored and participated in the Diplomatic spouses Association Golf tournament and Walkathon held at the Windsor Golf and Country club on Friday 2nd of October 2009. This is a charitable event held to raise funds to benefit Vesico-vaginal Fistula (VVF) surgeries for women residing in the rural areas of kenya.
The event was attended by Bata Kenya MD Mr.Nasir Rafique, Merchandising Manager,Mrs. Agnes Murila, Human Resource Manager Mr.Peter Giathi and International Expansion Manager Mr.Wilfred Wanjui.
Bata was well represented in both the golf tournament and the walkathon. It was a fun filled event especially for the walkathon participants who took the 5KM walkathon in a hilly route snaking in a forest within the expansive Windsor Golf club.
The day ended with a prize-giving reception in the evening, with lots of prizes for various people who were outstanding in various categories and raffle ticket prizes.The event was a huge success with over 1.5 Million shillings raised.
