As part of Bata Children’s Program (BCP) activities 2011, Bata Kenya recently donated Sports uniforms and balls to Limuru Olympic Youth Football Team. The donations were presented by the BCP Africa Coordinator Ms. Sophia Mbogo.

Ms. Mbogo presents a ball to the Captain of Limuru Olympic Youth Football team.
Ms. Mbogo was confident that this initiative will go a long way in ensuring that the youth are kept busy in the evenings as well as weekends. This is meant to prevent them from engaging in vices associated with idleness and most importantly help them discover their talents early enough so as to nurture and improve on them.

Ms. Mbogo, in the company of her colleagues from Bata Kenya offer the team advice on importance of nurturing talent.
Many Bata employees have over the years volunteered to coach the boys during their free time and also to organize football tournaments within and outside Limuru. In addition, Bata Kenya allows the youth to use the Bata sports field free of charge for their daily practice and tournaments.

"What youth can do, a lady can do better." Ms. Mbogo showcases her dribbling skill.
As part of Bata Children's program efforts in fighting the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Kenya, the balls are designed with the BCP logo as well as HIV/AIDS prevention messages.
